International Congress of Culture in Climate Action 2024
Our Chair, Dr Stacy Vallis, recently took part in the International Congress of Culture in Climate Action which took place online over 4, 5 and 6 December 2024.
The event will disseminate learnings from projects related to culture and climate action, across thematic areas including: Architecture and Urbanism; Art and Music; Education and Research; Museums, Archives and Libraries; Cultural and Natural Heritage; Sustainable Cultural Tourism.
Stacy Vallis is participating in an online roundtable with invited guest speakers including Chris Wiebe (Vice-Chair for North America, Climate Heritage Network), Jenny Hay (Coordinator for North America, Climate Heritage Network), Andrew Simpson (Chair of International Committee for University Museums and Collections/UMAC ICOM), Simon Musasizi (Co-Chair for Africa and the Arab States Region, Climate Heritage Network), William Megarry (Focal Point for Climate Change, ICOMOS), Salma Sabour (Director of Science for the Preserving Legacies Project), Reapul Kanji (Co-Founder, Confederation of Risk Reduction Professionals/CRRP).
This event is organized by the Institute for Sustainable Urban and Territorial Development of the City of La Plata Foundation, Sustainable Heritage Forum, Heritage and Climate Change Initiative, Climate Heritage Network.
