Ailsa is the Director of Kauati, a boutique policy and research consultancy in Queenstown that focuses on the interwoven relationships of nature and culture.
Her speciality is continuation of cultural heritage practices and connections at place (e.g. mahinga kai, Treaty Settlement redress). This has included freshwater management, masterplans, iwi heritage policies, Environment Court evidence, and developing an indigenous cultural landscape assessment, Āpiti Hono Tātai Hono: Ngā Whenua o Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku.
Ailsa has 20 plus years' experience working in private practice and heritage teams for iwi entities, local authorities, and government departments.
