Experience |
Lucy has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, with first class honours, majoring in Art History and Theory from the University of Otago. She has recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Planning, with Distinction, through Massey University and is currently working towards a Master of Resource and Environmental Planning. Her thesis will examine how the contested nature of heritage conservation is reflected in New Zealand's planning documents and can affect heritage protection, focusing on the Otago region.
Lucy joined Origin Heritage in 2020, working as a Heritage Planner. In this role, Lucy works with private clients and developers to understand how they can maintain the significance of heritage places and how heritage can play a vital role in development. While at Origin, Lucy has been involved in several large-scale projects, including historic and archaeological surveys for developments, large adaptive reuse projects, and plan changes.
Before joining Origin Heritage, she worked in the public sector as a policy advisor and lawyer. In these roles, she gained experience in extensive research and writing clear and concise advice – skills that have transferred to her role at Origin. |
